Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix is a Los Angeles native born on the 18th of November, 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix discovered early that she had a talent in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix placed second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract to Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at her first year at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic award at 2004's Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s which set the new world junior record. In 2005, she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top 3 across her diverse races at the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
